Job description

Transactional Antitrust Associate Attorney – New York or Washington, D.C.

Direct Counsel is seeking a Transactional Antitrust Associate to join a leading Am Law 100 firm with a rapidly growing, nationally recognized Antitrust and Competition practice. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-profile matters with top attorneys in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in government antitrust investigations and merger enforcement actions, including Second Requests.

  • Counsel clients on transactional antitrust risk, strategy, and compliance.

  • Appear before enforcement authorities such as the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and state Attorneys General.

  • Collaborate with a team of experienced antitrust practitioners in handling complex and high-stakes matters.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in antitrust and competition law, including government merger reviews and investigations.

  • Strong background advising clients on transactional antitrust issues.

  • Bar admission (or eligibility for admission) in New York or Washington, D.C. (Note: While the team is considering candidates in D.C., there is a particular focus on building the group in New York).

  • Excellent written, oral, and analytical skills.

Compensation:
The expected salary range for this position is $235,000–$365,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
