Litigation Specialist - Onsite - Brookfield, Wisconsin

Old Republic Risk Management (ORRM) is excited to add a Litigation Specialist to our Claims team at our headquarters in Brookfield, WI. As our newest Litigation Specialist, you'll report directly to the VP, Claim Litigation & Compliance and become a key legal and claims operations resource, partnering with claims leadership, outside counsel, third-party administrators, and internal stakeholders to support complex litigation, insurance coverage, and regulatory matters.

Since 1985, ORRM has been a pioneer in the alternative risk market, providing primary casualty insurance products to corporate and group insureds with complex risks. As a Litigation Specialist, you'll help support claims strategy, operational decision-making, and risk management objectives while working alongside a collaborative Claims team focused on resolving complex matters.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Litigation Specialist on our Claims team, you'll:

  • Analyze insurance coverage, policy interpretation, litigation developments, and regulatory considerations to support claims strategy, operational decision-making, and risk management objectives.
  • Coordinate complex litigation, coverage, and claims activities with claims leadership, outside counsel, third-party administrators (TPAs), and internal stakeholders to monitor progress, identify exposures and trends, and support timely resolution.
  • Review legal pleadings, discovery materials, coverage documentation, audit findings, regulatory inquiries, and case information to identify issues, summarize findings, and support litigation and claims strategy.
  • Conduct legal, coverage, and regulatory research on claims activity, jurisdictional requirements, policy interpretation, and litigation trends while preparing recommendations, reports, and communications for leadership and business partners.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze litigation, coverage, regulatory, and operational reports, metrics, and trend data to support oversight, risk assessment, management reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate communication among attorneys, claims professionals, TPAs, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex issues, support compliance, and align on litigation and business objectives.
  • Monitor and coordinate responses to regulatory matters, including audits, inquiries, reporting requirements, and matters involving external agencies and business partners while supporting compliance with legal and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Support operational excellence by identifying process improvement opportunities, monitoring performance outcomes, evaluating vendor and litigation support effectiveness, and implementing best practices across claims operations.

The ideal Litigation Specialist combines legal knowledge, insurance experience, strong organization, and attention to detail. To be successful as a Litigation Specialist, you'll have:

  • A Paralegal Certification, an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Business, Risk Management & Insurance, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in insurance claims, litigation support, insurance coverage analysis, regulatory compliance, paralegal work, or a related insurance or legal function.
  • A Juris Doctorate (JD) may be considered in lieu of the stated education and experience requirements.
  • Experience working with attorneys, outside counsel, third-party administrators, or claims professionals is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
