Job description

SUMMARY: The HR / Learning & Development Intern at Hercules Industries will play a key role in building and scaling internal training, communication, and employee development programs. This is not a purely administrative internship—interns will actively contribute to how employees are onboarded, trained, and engaged across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining people, process, and content creation, and wants to help shape how knowledge is transferred and how employees experience the company. M-F 7am-3:30pm, $21.00/hour

Timing & Commitment:
This is a Summer 2026 internship running from mid-May through August (approximately 10–12 weeks). The expected start date is flexible between May 15 and June 1, depending on academic schedules. Some flexibility in start and end dates may be accommodated.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Training Content Development

Assist in designing and developing training materials for employees across functions

Create onboarding content, learning modules, and instructional resources

Support the development of structured learning paths for key roles

Content & Graphic Creation

Develop clear, engaging training and communication materials (presentations, guides, visuals)

Help create introductory content for new hires and internal audiences

Ensure content is user-friendly, visually consistent, and aligned with company standards

SOP & Process Documentation

Assist in creating and standardizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Work with teams to document workflows, best practices, and key processes

Help ensure documentation is clear, accessible, and easy to maintain

Job Analysis & Role Documentation

Support job analysis efforts by gathering information on responsibilities, skills, and workflows

Assist in developing or refining job descriptions and role expectations

Help identify skill gaps and training opportunities across roles

Learning Management System (LMS) Support

Help manage and update content within the company’s LMS

Upload training materials, track completion, and maintain accurate learning records

Support reporting and analysis of training participation and effectiveness

Internal Communications

Assist in drafting and distributing internal communications related to training, initiatives, and company updates

Help ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and engaging across teams

Support communication strategies that improve awareness and participation

Employee Onboarding & Engagement

Support onboarding processes to ensure a smooth and consistent new hire experience

Help coordinate onboarding schedules, materials, and communications

Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, programs, and feedback efforts

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the below essential duties satisfactorily.   • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Communications, Psychology, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (especially PowerPoint/Slides and Excel/Sheets)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Interest in employee development, training, and organizational effectiveness

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating presentations, training materials, or visual content
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or e-learning tools
  • Exposure to HR processes, onboarding, or internal communications
  • Basic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe, or similar tools)
  • Experience documenting processes or creating SOPs

Attendance is required Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. or within normal business hours as established by the supervisor. Employee may be required to work overtime, and occasional Saturday’s and Sunday’s.
