What will you do?

A day in the life of a Manager, Learning Experience Design at VF looks a little like this.

You work within Global Learning and Leadership Development as part of the enterprise learning design team. You partner closely with learning portfolio and curriculum leaders, regional learning teams, facilitators, SMEs, and crossfunctional stakeholders. Your role focuses on shaping and maintaining learning experience design standards, leading the design of highimpact enterprise learning experiences, and supporting designers across the system to ensure learning is practical, engaging, and effective. This role reports to the Senior Director, Global Learning and Leadership Development.

Let's break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

Enterprise Design Standards & Quality Bar

  • Responsible for stewarding and applying enterprise learning experience design standards across programs to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Reinforce expectations for design quality, modality choices, and learner experience consistency through guidance, review, and feedback.

Experience Architecture & Design Leadership

  • Lead the design of highimpact learning experiences within approved enterprise priorities, with a focus on real business decisions and practical application.
  • Translate curriculum and portfolio direction into clear, coherent experience architectures across digital, live, and blended formats.

Design Leadership & Decision Support

  • Lead design decisions within defined standards and guardrails, surfacing tradeoffs and recommendations when escalation or alignment is required.
  • Ensure learning experiences are thoughtfully designed for scale, maintaining intent and quality as programs expand.

Capability Building & Designer Enablement

  • Coach and support learning designers across global and regional teams to strengthen shared design capability and confidence.
  • Provide clear guidance, feedback, and practical tools that elevate daytoday design practice across the system.

Continuous Improvement & EvidenceBased Practice

  • Use learner feedback, delivery insights, and outcome data to inform improvements to learning experience quality over time.
  • Encourage the use of evidencebased design practices that support application and transfer to real work.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you'll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, especially a degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field, we are most interested in your 5+ years of experience and professional achievements.

  • Strong learning experience design expertise, with the ability to apply adult learning principles to real business problems and decisions.
  • Experience leveraging e-learning and content development tools (Elucidat, Articulate 360, PowerPoint, or similar) to build engaging, scalable training solutions that drive adoption and behavior change.
  • Ability to interpret enterprise strategy, curriculum direction, and design standards and translate them into effective learning experiences.
  • Confidence leading complex design work across digital, live, and blended formats while managing multiple initiatives in parallel.
  • Skill in making practical design judgments and tradeoffs within defined standards, escalation paths, and priorities.
  • Proven capability to coach, review, and elevate the work of learning designers through clear feedback and guidance.
  • Comfort collaborating with regional teams, facilitators, SMEs, and portfolio partners in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to apply learner feedback, facilitation insights, and outcome data to improve experience quality over time.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to explain design choices and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail paired with the ability to maintain momentum and delivery speed without sacrificing quality.
  • A learning mindset grounded in evidencebased practices and continuous improvement rather than personal design preferences.
