Job Summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a dynamic and strategic Instructional Designer & Program Coordinator to partner with the Energy Services & Controls business. Reporting to the Talent Development Leader, this hybrid role blends instructional design leadership with program coordination excellence to deliver impactful learning experiences that build capability across the organization.

This role is ideal for a creative, collaborative professional who enjoys shaping learner experiences from concept through execution. The successful candidate will own the design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of online learning content, including administration and utilization of Workday Learning, while also leading the planning and coordination of training programs throughout the year.

In this role, you will partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, trainers, facilitators, and HR stakeholders to ensure learning solutions are engaging, scalable, operationally excellent, and aligned to business priorities. This position offers the opportunity to influence talent development strategy, elevate program quality, and create a consistent, high-impact learner experience across Energy Services.

What you will do:

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Design & Learning Experience Ownership

  • Design, develop, and manage engaging learning solutions for the Energy Services & Controls business across online, blended, and instructor-led formats.
  • Build and maintain digital learning content that advances technical, functional, and professional capability development.
  • Own the learner experience for assigned programs by ensuring content is relevant, accessible, well-structured, and aligned with adult learning principles.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and business stakeholders to identify learning needs, define objectives, and translate business requirements into effective learning solutions.
  • Manage course creation, updates, assignments, and deployment within Workday Learning, helping establish efficient and scalable learning administration practices.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve training content based on stakeholder feedback, learner insights, and evolving business needs.
  • Bring creativity and innovation to the design process through modern instructional methods, digital tools, and interactive learning approaches.

Program Coordination & Delivery Management

  • Lead end-to-end coordination of training programs and events throughout the year to ensure seamless execution and a high-quality participant experience.
  • Manage training rosters, enrollment tracking, attendance coordination, and related program records.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for communications with managers, participants, trainers, and facilitators before, during, and after training events.
  • Coordinate training logistics, including space reservations, room setup, material preparation, catering arrangements, and on-site assistance.
  • Ensure all training materials, resources, and program details are prepared accurately and delivered on schedule.
  • Maintain program calendars, timelines, and logistics plans to ensure consistent execution across multiple learning initiatives.
  • Anticipate and resolve operational issues quickly while maintaining a professional and learner-focused experience.

Collaboration, Program Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner closely with the Talent Development Leader to advance learning priorities for the Energy Services & Controls business.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, business leaders, facilitators, vendors, and subject matter experts to execute learning initiatives that advance capability building and business performance.
  • Provide coordination and project leadership across multiple simultaneous programs, helping align deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance training operations, learner engagement, and overall program effectiveness.
  • Contribute to reporting, program metrics, and feedback collection to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Help drive consistency, quality, and professionalism across the learning portfolio through strong organization, communication, and stakeholder partnership.

Qualifications

  • Experience in instructional design, training coordination, talent development, learning operations, or program management.
  • Experience developing and managing digital learning content and coordinating instructor-led training programs.
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high-quality learner and stakeholder experience.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, human resources, business, organizational development, or a related field.
  • Experience serving technical, field-based, or operational businesses such as Energy Services, Controls, HVAC, or related industries.
  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools, digital content platforms, or multimedia learning design.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, learner engagement strategies, and instructional design best practices.
  • Experience coordinating enterprise or business-unit training programs with multiple stakeholders and moving parts.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$63,111.66 - $87,639.99
