The Role
The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for creating and delivering educational content and communications that support Red and Blue University's (RBU) learning strategy, enhance program consistency, and promote an exceptional employee experience throughout Suffolk.
This role requires you to be on-site in our vibrant Boston office four days a week, where you can take advantage of free parking, an on-site gym, a cafeteria, and other perks that contribute to a welcoming culture and distinctive workplace environment!
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the RBU's intake process and SOPs are followed; identify areas of improvement

  • Design and develop RBU content including online and classroom curriculum, ILT PowerPoints, micro-learnings, assessments, feedback surveys, progress evaluations

  • Ensure adherence to good instructional design principles and practices i.e. ADDIE and more

  • Support all ongoing training programs; manage and update all training material as needed

  • Support and execute on the organization-wide learning experience and communication strategy

  • Troubleshoot learning system related issues in liaison with the HR Systems Manager

  • Stay current with L&D Industry trends, technologies, and innovations to elevate learning offerings

  • Continue self-development in foundational L&D related knowledge, skills and competencies

  • Act as a Learner advocate across the populations at Suffolk, keeping the Learner's experience first

  • Support the analysis of robust data from SME feedback surveys, course evaluations, field observations, self-study courses, and performance-based assessments to inform learning and development strategy

  • Support with the development and management of construction role-based, leadership, and professional development programs

  • Ensure exceptional customer service to all stakeholders of Suffolk's Red & Blue University

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Human Resources, Instructional Design or related field

  • 3 years of direct human resources or learning and development experience

  • Ability to assess employee needs and create content/solutions catering to those needs

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneDrive)

  • Proven ability to develop engaging training material, lessons, and presentations across a variety of learning types and abilities

  • Experience with LMS administration & management

  • Experience with content creation tools such as Articulate 360, Vyyond or similar

  • Collaborative, service-oriented, and results-driven

  • Highly organized; able to prioritize and multi-task

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Resourceful with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills; sound business judgement

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position (Specialist, Learning Programs) in US-MA-Boston is between $78,000 and $106,000 USD. This represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Suffolk's total compensation package. Actual salaries may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, experience, education and other qualifications.
