Summary:
The Technical Inside Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for inquiries, issues, and sales opportunities. This role focuses on driving revenue growth by identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities, expanding product usage within existing accounts, and proactively addressing customer needs. They analyze account trends, monitor market activity, and adjust sales strategies to maximize margin. Additionally, they collaborate with internal teams, including outside sales, operations, and business development-to ensure seamless customer experiences and long-term account success.
Core Job Duties:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned customer accounts
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, issues, and requests
  • Proactively monitor account performance and identify growth opportunities
  • Responsible for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding product usage within accounts
  • Gain customer acceptance by explaining product applications, including product features & benefits, assisting with special orders and specialty applications.
  • Address customer concerns promptly, ensuring high satisfaction levels
  • Responsible for order fulfillment and work to resolve issues effectively
  • Educate customers on new products, features, and services
  • Collaborate with business development teams to nurture leads
  • Utilize CRM tools to track and manage sales opportunities
  • Work closely with internal teams, such as outside sales, engineering, and operations, to align on customer strategies
  • Support quoting activity and order entry for all customers
  • Determine pricing and margin percentages during quoting in collaboration with Outside Sales.
  • Act as a product knowledge expert in liquid level measurement.

Works Closely with Sales Leadership and Outside Sales:
  • Ensure sales plans are executed to increase revenues and margins
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Work with internal team to develop annual forecasts
  • Make recommendations regarding potential new products and markets
  • Suggest sales promotions, pricing, or literature (marketing) ideas to increase sales

Required Experience:
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in inside sales, technical sales, account management, or a customer-facing role within an industrial, manufacturing, or technical product environment
  • Proven experience managing existing customer accounts and looking for opportunities for revenue growth and upselling
  • Demonstrated ability to support or influence pricing, margin, and quoting decisions in collaboration with sales leadership or outside sales teams
  • Experience using CRM systems
  • Background in order management, customer issue resolution, and cross-functional coordination

Skills & Competencies:
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in prioritizing customer needs and recommending commercial solutions
