Job description

OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Buyer II to support our indirect procurement operations. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for internal Ariba users, ensuring a seamless purchasing experience while driving compliance with company policies and supplier strategies. You will play a key role in maintaining data integrity, supporting audits, and delivering insights through reporting and analysis. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and continuously improving systems, processes, and supplier performance. This role is hybrid (3 days per week in office) and based in our Niles, IL location. Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary contact for internal Ariba users
  • Provide training sessions, quick reference guides and FAQs for requestors and approvers
  • Answer "how do I" questions and help users navigate features or process changes.
  • Ensuring purchasing events follow company policies
  • Enforcing use of preferred suppliers and contracted items
  • Support audit by providing Ariba reports, event histories, and records
  • Set up and maintain clean vendor master data in SAP and Ariba
  • Run regular reports on spend, savings, compliance, cycle time and system usage
  • Participate in testing when there are upgrades, new module or process change
  • Monitor supplier performance via Ariba data
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues and improve service levels
  • Troubleshoot blocked invoices, PO discrepancies, receipt issues and order failures
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience: In procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.

    • Specific experience with indirect procurement activities.
  • Experience with ERP systems: Particularly previous experience with Ariba or similar procurement software.

  • Understanding of procurement processes: Deep knowledge of P2P (Procure-to-Pay) processes, e-catalog management, requisitioning, PO creation, and supplier enablement.

  • Compliance and audit knowledge: Familiarity with compliance standards and audit processes related to procurement and sourcing.

  • Excellent communication skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

  • Negotiation skills: Ability to negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers.

  • Attention to detail: High level of accuracy in data management and contract details.

  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot system issues and workflow disruptions promptly.
