Job Responsibilities:

Position Overview

This role is responsible for leading all procurement activities supporting manufacturing operations, including sourcing of production materials, services, and indirect supplies. The Purchasing Manager will develop and manage the supplier network, support cross-functional business needs, and ensure continuity of supply while meeting cost, quality, and delivery expectations.

This position also plays a key role in advancing purchasing systems and processes, proactively identifying supply chain risks and impacts, and ensuring adherence to established controls, compliance requirements, and standard work practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all sourcing and procurement activities supporting plant operations
  • Develop, manage, and strengthen relationships with domestic and global suppliers
  • Ensure supply continuity by proactively addressing delivery, quality, and capacity risks
  • Identify and implement cost reduction, value optimization, and process improvement opportunities
  • Drive alignment between purchasing activities and production and customer requirements
  • Oversee supplier performance management, including corrective actions when required
  • Lead RFQ/RFPprocesses, including development of sourcing strategies, bid packages, and commercial evaluations
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term supply agreements in alignment with business objectives
  • Manage approved supplier selection, qualification, audits, and ongoing performance reviews
  • Monitor market trends and supply base conditions to anticipate risk and recommend mitigation actions
  • Reconcile purchasing discrepancies including invoice, PO, and contractual variances
  • Support capital and production purchasing activities in collaboration with Finance and Operations
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and quality management system requirements
  • Lead or support document control activities and audit readiness related to purchasing systems
  • Drive supplier innovation and encourage adoption of improved materials, processes, and technologies
  • Support special projects and additional initiatives as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
  • C.P.M.and/or CPSM certification considered an asset
  • 5-8 years of progressive purchasing experience within automotive or industrial manufacturing environments
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
  • Strong background in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost analysis
