Corp Purchasing - Buyer

PURPOSE
The Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, components, equipment and services required for production and operations. This role will be responsible for obtaining quotes and managing procurement for all assigned vendors. ย This position requires a willingness to learn procurement best practices, supplier relationship management, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality and others. ย  ย 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
โ€ข ย  ย Manage the timely procurement of materials and services in accordance with project timelines, budget, and quality standards for all assigned vendors. ย 
โ€ข ย  ย Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best pricing, quality, and delivery. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, pricing, or quality.
โ€ข ย  ย Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms for the organization.
โ€ข ย  ย Conduct regular cost analyses to identify potential savings and drive continuous cost-reduction initiatives.
โ€ข ย  ย Collaborate with other groups to develop and implement best practices and process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and supplier performance.
โ€ข ย  ย Assist in purchasing activities to comply with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant legal regulations via appropriate documentation. Review and update ISO9001 and ISO14001 documentation including work instructions.
โ€ข ย  ย Work with senior members of the purchasing team, with a willingness to be mentored on new tasks.ย 
โ€ข ย  ย Work as needed with engineering, production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure that all materials meet technical specifications and are delivered on time.
โ€ข ย  ย Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring adherence to company policies, budgets, and timelines.
โ€ข ย  ย Assist in resolving any issues that can impact vendor payments.
โ€ข ย  ย All other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
โ€ข ย  ย This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work in our warehouse/factory.
โ€ข ย  ย Occasional travel to supplier locations.
โ€ข ย  ย Sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.ย 
โ€ข ย  ย Required to lift up to 25 pounds.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
โ€ข ย  ย Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
โ€ข ย  ย 1-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in industrial automation, manufacturing, or a related industry.
โ€ข ย  ย Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.
โ€ข ย  ย Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
โ€ข ย  ย Perform duties with minimal direction if applicable.
