Job description

Summary:

Responsible for procurement of turbocharger components from approved suppliers at best cost and delivery conditions and developing and managing MTEA’s supply base for assigned commodities. The above shall be executed within the boundaries as set forth in the regulations and purchasing policy from Mitsubishi Turbocharge and Engine America, Inc. (‘MTEA’).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Sourcing and purchasing turbocharger components in pre-PPAP stage.

    Complete ownership of assigned Suppliers’ management (investigation, supplier review, audit, approval, onboarding, etc.).

    Quote and source production materials.

    Issue RFQ, receive, review, and analyze supplier quotes.

    Visit suppliers, negotiate terms and conditions of business with suppliers.

    Negotiate and secure annual cost reduction for assigned commodities.

    Make tactical and strategic sourcing decisions.

    Keep record of price changes and process changes and keep Supplier Database up to date.

    Support or lead APQP activities for assigned suppliers/commodities

    Summarize supply chain related information and data, and present reports to company management.

    Assist Production control, QA and Accounting in resolving supplier related issues.

    Review and approve supplier invoices in the company’s payment system and resolve invoice discrepancies.

    Serve as back up for MRO Buyer as needed.

    Serve as back up for customer tooling database management.

    Follow-up on PO status and delivery dates.

    Participates in the Global Sourcing Team activities.

    Perform other duties as assigned by MTEA management.

Required qualifications:

§  B.A/B.S. Degree.

§  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

§  Strong computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office suite

§  Must be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

§  Must be able to occasionally move or lift up to 40 pounds.

§  Ability to sit throughout the workday.

§  Ability and willingness to work overtime/weekends if needed.

§  Ability to travel (domestically and internationally) as needed, including travel for extended periods. Must be able to obtain travel passport.

Preferred qualifications:

§  Min 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting is strongly preferred.

§  Experience in purchasing casting and machined components, stamping parts, fasteners, and electronic components is preferred.

§  IATF Supplier Auditor Certification is preferred. 

§  Experience with Procurement module of SAP system is preferred.

§  Foreign language ability (Japanese or Spanish) is preferred.
