What are some common challenges faced by Implementation Managers working on a contract basis, and how can they be addressed?

Implementation Managers on contract often encounter challenges such as quickly acclimating to new organizational cultures, building trust with stakeholders in a limited timeframe, and managing project scope changes without longstanding internal relationships. To address these, it's important to proactively communicate, set clear expectations with clients, and leverage structured onboarding processes. Building rapport early and demonstrating reliability can help overcome transitional hurdles and ensure successful project delivery.

What are Implementation Manager Contracts?

Implementation Manager Contracts refer to roles where a professional is hired—often on a temporary or project basis—to oversee and execute the rollout of new systems, processes, or solutions within an organization. These contracts typically involve managing timelines, coordinating between different teams, ensuring resources are allocated properly, and tracking project milestones to ensure successful implementation. Implementation Managers work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that the transition to new products or processes aligns with business goals. Their expertise is essential for minimizing disruption and maximizing the benefits of new initiatives.

Job description

As an Implementation Manager at Engine, you'll own the onboarding experience for some of our most important new customers, setting them up for long-term success on the platform. You'll craft tailored rollout plans, drive product adoption across our full suite, and partner closely with Sales and Account Management to deliver a smooth handoff into the customer lifecycle. This is a high-impact role where innovation meets collaboration, and where the work you do directly shapes how quickly and deeply new customers embrace Engine.

Your Mission:
  • Design and execute onboarding strategies for Engine's new customer opportunities (deals ranging from $200K to $1M), setting the foundation for lasting partnerships.
  • Drive product adoption across Engine's full suite during a customer's first months on the platform.
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management to unlock new opportunities and deliver a seamless customer experience from signed contract to first booking.
  • Lead implementation and onboarding processes that scale efficiently, driving adoption in the first year and preparing customers for a smooth transition to their dedicated Account Manager.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by leading key meetings, delivering training, and ensuring every interaction with Engine exceeds expectations.
What You'll Bring to Engine:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, account management, customer success, or implementation
  • Subject matter expertise in onboarding and customer success, with a track record of thriving in fast-paced, innovative environments
  • A problem-solver's mindset. You anticipate customer needs, remove friction, and build conviction through consultative conversations.
  • Comfort owning ambitious performance goals, including high win rates through onboarding milestones, meeting weekly customer engagement targets (roughly 15 customer meetings per week), and hitting adoption benchmarks in the first six months of a customer's lifecycle
  • Strong cross-functional skills across Sales, Account Management, and customer-facing teams
  • Bonus points if you're fluent in building configuration and rollout plans, drafting mutual success plans, and coordinating handoffs across GTM teams

Applications for this role will be accepted through November 6, 2026 or until the role is filled. We encourage you to apply early, as we may begin reviewing applications before the deadline.
