Job description

Summary: The Human Resource Manager provides support to the company's business goals through the implementation of strategies and initiatives that attract, develop and retain high-performing employees. The HR Manager plays a critical role in employee engagement by acting as a strategic advisor, bridging the gap between HR and the business to ensure HR practices align with company goals: fostering a positive work environment that motivates employees and increases their engagement levels; understanding employee needs; collaborating with leadership; and implementing initiatives to address concerns within the organization. The HR Manager typically spends 80% effort with site supervisors and employees; 20% with senior leadership.

Essential Functions: Manage ongoing daily priorities of People, Safety, Quality, Throughput and Cost Focus effort, bring creative solutions and constant vigilance to drive and support critical HR initiatives. Proactively align all HR initiatives between Albany Titanium sites. Lead and cultivate ongoing development of the site HR team to support present and future company goals.

Oversee recruiting, selection and retention. Assist with content, implementation and oversight of supervisor and management development. Keep supervisors and managers up to date on relevant employment laws.

Serve as advisor and business partner with supervisors and managers. Oversee and assist supervisors and managers in performance management. Implement and maintain consistent performance review process.

Maintain competitive and equitable pay structures. Stay abreast of regulations and trends affecting the industry. Design and implement new processes for efficiency (continuous improvement).

Develop and maintain relationships with all staff. Oversee and assist with disciplinary action. Oversee appropriate and timely HRIS maintenance.

Oversee and consistently maintain time and attendance. Respond to unemployment claims in a timely manner. Brand company as an employer of choice Ensure the plant is compliant with all federal, state and local employment laws.

Routinely audit HR functions. Key Dimensions: Improve employee retention; reduce turnover Monitor and maintain headcount targets Oversee Talent Pipeline through Community Partners Support quarterly employee engagement events (and more frequent smaller activities) Develop HR and site leadership (individuals and teams) Support training plan execution and accountability Maintain and support site organizational development plan (ODP) Key Relationships & Leadership: General Manager (directly report) Director of HR (dotted line reporting) Site Leadership Direct reports (~3 HR Generalists) All employees (~700 total headcount) CPP corporate HR team Community partners Site and division HR team Third-party administrators Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience (minimum 8 years' experience as HR leader) HR certification preferred ((S)PHR and/or SHRM-(S)CP) Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of state and federal employment laws, compensation planning and equity, and benefits administration. Strong organizational skills, leadership skills, conflict management skills.

Our collective work happens onsite. Work is primarily performed onsite in an office; however, the HR Manager will spend significant time in the manufacturing areas to observe daily operations, connect with employees, and provide realtime support. The environment may involve moderate noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.

Some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required in most plant areas (safety glasses/shoes) Travel requirements will vary based on business needs.
