This position is ideal for an early-career HR professional seeking broad exposure across the full HR lifecycle, including compliance, policy development, onboarding, employee relations support, project coordination, and day-to-day operational tasks. Working closely with an assigned HR Business Partner, and in collaboration with the broader HRBP team, the HR Coordinator provides structured administrative support, contributes to client-specific initiatives, and ensures consistent, high-quality service delivery. This role requires strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting both internal HR functions and client-facing needs.

Description
This is an in person position based in our San Luis Obispo, California office. Approximately 75% of the role will be spent working on site with clients throughout San Luis Obispo County, with the remaining approximately 25% performed remotely.
To effectively meet the on site requirements of this role, applicants should currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance of San Luis Obispo County. Candidates who do not currently live within the local commuting area will not be considered.
We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support our growing team. This role is perfect for someone at the early stages of their HR career who wants hands-on experience across all areas of Human Resources, from compliance, policy creation, onboarding, employee support, project management and HR operations. This position includes dedicated hours for multiple clients in the capacity of HR Coordinator, working collaboratively with the assigned HR Business Partner and offering project support across the HR Business Partner team.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for daily HR operations, including file management, data entry, scheduling, and general coordination.
  • Assist with the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth and professional employee experience.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support compliance efforts, including documentation audits and updates.
  • Help prepare HR communications, forms, and reports as needed.
  • Support recruiting efforts by posting jobs, screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Assist with timekeeping, payroll preparation tasks, and benefits administration as needed.
  • Provide friendly, efficient support to employees and managers, helping resolve basic HR questions or routing inquiries appropriately.
Requirements:
  • 1+ year of experience in HR, administrative roles, or related fields.
  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or currently pursuing a degree/certification).
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organization and follow-through.
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow in the HR field.
  • Clear, professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
