Glacier Federal, LLC is seeking a Cognitive Performance Specialist to develop and deliver evidence-based mental-performance services for military personnel. Working within an integrated human-performance team, this professional will help individuals and teams build the cognitive skills, resilience, and readiness needed to perform consistently in demanding operational environments.

Anticipated starting salary: $95,000-$115,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on qualifications, relevant experience, professional credentials, clearance status, and contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
โข Develop individualized and group cognitive-performance programs that strengthen readiness, resilience, recovery, and sustained performance.
โข Conduct and document initial and annual cognitive-performance assessments; interpret results and provide practical, individualized feedback.
โข Coach evidence-based mental skills, including attention control, arousal regulation, confidence, imagery, goal setting, stress management, adaptive coping, and sleep/recovery behaviors.
โข Develop goal-driven performance plans; evaluate progress and adjust strategies based on individual needs and mission demands.
โข Deliver education and skill-building sessions that improve team communication, cohesion, psychological readiness, and performance under pressure.
โข Consult with unit leadership on organizational performance, resilience, well-being, and human-performance trends while protecting individual privacy.
โข Collaborate with physical therapy, athletic training, strength and conditioning, and Government medical professionals to provide coordinated performance support.
โข Recognize concerns that exceed the nonclinical performance scope and coordinate timely referral or emergency response under established procedures.
โข Analyze assessment and utilization data, identify trends, and contribute findings and recommendations to required program reports and continuous-improvement efforts.
โข Document encounters, performance plans, referrals, outcomes, and Government-defined metrics accurately and within required timelines.
โข Maintain professional ethics, confidentiality, appropriate nonclinical boundaries, and compliance with privacy, safety, installation, and security requirements.
Required Qualifications
โข Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution in sport or performance psychology, psychology, counseling, kinesiology, exercise science, or a closely related human-performance discipline.
โข Graduate education, supervised training, or substantial professional experience in sport, performance, or cognitive-performance consulting.
โข Demonstrated ability to conduct performance-focused assessments and translate findings into practical individual and team performance strategies.
โข Demonstrated competence in mental-skills training, resilience, stress management, recovery, behavior change, professional ethics, and confidential documentation.
โข Ability to recognize concerns outside the nonclinical performance scope and make appropriate referrals through established medical or behavioral-health channels.
Preferred Qualifications
โข Current Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, or documented progress toward certification.
โข Experience supporting military, tactical, aviation, police/fire, collegiate, professional, or other elite-performance populations.
โข Experience conducting cognitive-performance assessments, developing individualized mental-performance plans, and consulting with leaders or multidisciplinary teams.
โข Three or more years of applied experience delivering mental-performance services to high-performing adult populations.
โข Active Secret security clearance.
Work Conditions and Employment Requirements
โข On-site supporting an Air National Guard unit in Portland, Oregon; telework is not authorized.
โข Core service window: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., excluding federal holidays and authorized closures.
โข Schedule flexibility is required for quarterly drills, annual training, mission needs, and occasional approved travel.
โข The program maintains essential services during designated crises and 24/7 on-call support during domestic-response crises, with a four-hour response requirement. Assignments will be coordinated by program leadership.
โข Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance and required installation/system access, including a Common Access Card.
โข Employment is contingent upon contract award, Government acceptance, required screening, and satisfaction of all access and credentialing requirements.
