Position Overview:
The HRIS Specialist will work in a projectized environment assisting with training, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our HR systems to ensure data integrity, streamline HR processes, and support strategic decision-making. HR systems include, but are not limited to, our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) UKG/ Ultipro, our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Greenhouse, and our Learning Management System (LMS) Cornerstone. The HRIS Specialist will actively identify and resolve issues or opportunities for process improvement, automation, enhanced user experience and other HRIS integrations. The HRIS Specialist will report to the Manager of HRIS.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations of the HRIS system including user access, reporting, maintenance, and system configuration.
  • Audit employee data to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Create, maintain, and produce reporting with varying degrees of complexity for HR metrics and compliance requirements.
  • Lead or support upgrades, test new functionalities, and manage multiple cross-functional project activities.
  • Act as a key point of contact for our HRIS systems with an emphasis on vendor management, troubleshooting and training employees.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system issues, enhancements, and queries.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, IT, or related field preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Human Resources, HRIS or IT, specifically working with HRIS systems.
  • Strong proficiency in HRIS platforms and related report writing (UKG highly preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills desired.
  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills with diligence and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills working with project teams, clients, and vendors.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • This role requires regular in-person collaboration with team members at our Chicago Support Center.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. with little assistance
  • Must be able to work in restrictive spaces and maintain concentration in a busy environment with moderate to high noise levels
  • Must manage several tasks at one time and handle frequent interruptions to meet the needs and requests of customers
