                                                                                                     Location: Districtwide (Information Technology)
                                                                                                      Hourly position (Up to 37.5 hours per week)
Position Summary: Performs general IT maintenance and repair of Juneau School District's IT devices. The hourly IT Repair Tech position will clean, organize, reimage, and repair Chromebooks, iPads, PCs, and Apple devices as needed. In addition, this position will maintain and prepare device carts, and assist with special projects as needed. Working hours will either be 3.5 hr/day, 5 days a week OR 7.5 hr/day Thursdays and Fridays. 
Essential Duties: 





  • Will perform the duties of general IT maintenance, and assist ITSS staff to complete summer projects.
  • Safely operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, and equipment to perfom IT duties.
  • Operates vehicles and transports materials and supplies to the job site.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience working with children.
  • Valid Alaska driver's license and able to obtain a commercial driver's license. 


Preferred Knowledge of: 

  • Safety standards and practices.
  • Chromebooks, computers, and other equipment. 


Ability to: 

  • Effectively communicate with staff and members of the public verbally, in writing, or by using a computer.
  • Operate a computer or tablet as related to daily IT duties.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and members of the public.
  • Work independenty or as a team member to achieve the goals of the school district. 


Compensation: This is a temporary hourly position, working up to 37.5 hours a week, with a starting salary of $25.60 per hour. Summer hourly work is entered into solely for the purposes of operation in an hourly position with JSD ouside of the instructional school calendar. Summer employees who work more than 15 hours a week between the dates of May 26 - August 14, 2026 will provide services for a term of no more than 30 days within a classification. 




Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a records check.
