What jobs make $1,000,000 a year?

Jobs that can earn $1,000,000 annually typically include high-level executive roles such as CEOs, successful entrepreneurs, and certain investment bankers or hedge fund managers. Sales roles like top-performing enterprise sales directors or real estate developers can also reach this level with commissions and bonuses. Achieving this income often requires extensive experience, advanced skills, and a strong professional network.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Hourly SDR (Sales Development Representative), and why are they important?

To thrive as an Hourly SDR, you need strong communication skills, a foundational understanding of sales processes, and preferably some experience or education in business or marketing. Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce, sales engagement tools such as Outreach or SalesLoft, and proficiency in using email and phone outreach platforms are typically required. Persistence, resilience, and active listening are essential soft skills that help SDRs build rapport and handle rejection effectively. These skills enable SDRs to consistently generate and qualify leads, contributing directly to the sales pipeline and overall company growth.

Can you be a part-time SDR?

Yes, some companies offer part-time Sales Development Representative (SDR) roles, allowing individuals to work fewer hours than full-time positions. These roles often require strong communication skills and familiarity with CRM tools, and schedules can vary based on company needs and sales cycles.

What is an Hourly SDR?

An Hourly SDR, or Sales Development Representative, is a professional who is typically paid by the hour to generate and qualify sales leads for a company. Their main role is to reach out to potential customers, initiate conversations, and assess whether prospects are a good fit for the company's products or services. This position often serves as an entry point into sales and involves tasks like cold calling, emailing, and scheduling meetings for more senior sales staff. Hourly SDRs are crucial in building a pipeline of potential clients and supporting the overall sales process.

What does a typical day look like for an Hourly SDR and how is performance usually measured?

As an Hourly SDR (Sales Development Representative), your day typically involves researching leads, making outbound calls or emails, and setting appointments for the sales team. Performance is commonly measured by the number of qualified leads generated, outreach attempts, and booked meetings. You’ll often collaborate with marketing and account executives to refine messaging and target the right prospects. The structured, metrics-driven environment helps you quickly develop your sales skills and provides clear feedback on your progress.

How much do SDRs get paid?

Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) typically earn an hourly wage ranging from $15 to $25, with some earning higher based on experience, location, and performance bonuses. Many SDRs also receive commissions or incentives for meeting sales targets, which can significantly increase total compensation.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

An hourly sales development representative (SDR) can potentially earn $10,000 a month through commission-based pay, especially in high-performing roles or industries like technology or software sales. Success depends on sales skills, experience, and the ability to close deals, often requiring strong communication and prospecting abilities but not necessarily a degree.

SDR Manager - US

Dash0 Inc

New York, NY • On-site

$170K - $200K/yr

Full-time

Posted 22 days ago

Job description

About Dash0
Join Dash0 and help us define the future of observability. We are OpenTelemetry-native, building a delightful, simple, and AI-centric platform that eliminates vendor lock-in and meaningless toil. Shape a product that developers love-all with transparent pricing and cost-control built in.
The Opportunity
Dash0 is scaling its outbound engine in the US and we're looking for an SDR Manager to build, lead, and develop our Sales Development team in New York. You'll own the team that creates the top of funnel for both our Commercial and Enterprise sales motions - turning outbound activity into qualified pipeline that fuels Dash0's growth in the US market.
This is a leadership role with real impact. You'll hire and coach SDRs, define the outbound playbook, and work closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to build a predictable pipeline machine. If you've built SDR teams before and love developing people as much as you love hitting numbers, this is your role.
What You'll Do
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop a team of Commercial and Enterprise SDRs in the US market.
  • Own the team's pipeline targets and outbound KPIs - meetings booked, opportunities created, and pipeline generated.
  • Design and iterate on outbound sequences, messaging, and prospecting strategies tailored to technical buyers (VPs of Engineering, SREs, Platform Engineers).
  • Run structured coaching sessions, call reviews, and pipeline meetings to continuously improve team performance.
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to ensure smooth handoffs and high-quality opportunity creation.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and RevOps to align on target accounts, lead scoring, and campaign follow-up motions.
  • Build a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement within the SDR team.

What You Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in sales development, with at least 1-2 years managing or leading an SDR team at a B2B SaaS company.
  • A track record of building or scaling outbound teams that consistently hit pipeline targets.
  • Strong coaching and people development skills - you get energy from helping reps grow into AEs.
  • Experience with modern outbound tools and CRMs (HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach, or similar).
  • Data-driven mindset - you manage by metrics and use data to diagnose and improve team performance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice to Have
  • Experience selling into technical personas (DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, observability).
  • Familiarity with the OpenTelemetry or cloud-native ecosystem.
  • Experience with MEDDPICC or similar qualification frameworks at the SDR level.
  • Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed startup environment.

Why Dash0
This is a unique opportunity to help build a generational company. Dash0 is backed by top-tier investors including Balderton Capital, Accel and Cherry Ventures and led by a founding team with decades of experience in observability. We're in the middle of a massive growth phase after our Series B - and we're just getting started.
If you're looking for a place where a great product meets great people, where momentum is real and your impact is visible from day one - this is it.
What we offer:
  • Competitive salary & meaningful equity participation - you'll own part of what you're building
  • Flexible, remote-first work environment with offices in New York, Amsterdam, and Munich
  • €60/month phone & internet allowance
  • Location-specific benefits
  • Collaborative, fast-moving team culture with a builder mindset
  • Clear path for career growth and development
  • Direct access to founders and leadership
