Food Service Worker JOB SUMMARY:

Amazing opportunity to work in a BEAUTIFUL setting in the rolling hills of North Salem with a *TOP RATED* Facility in Westchester County known for providing the highest quality care and resident experience. Waterview Hills Campus is home to Waterview Hills and Salem Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare: Two facilities committed to providing outstanding Subacute Rehab and Long-Term Skilled Nursing Care. Together, these facilities offer patients the best rehab and nursing care they can obtain after their hospital discharge. The role of the Food Service Worker is to provide our residents with all of their meals and/or snacks in a sanitary and safe manner adhering to all policies and procedures of the facility while focusing on customer service and satisfaction.

  • Proper "in kitchen" preparation and cleaning in regard to the station assigned to you.
  • Adhering to all assigned break times and service times.
  • Food Service Worker completes all tasks assigned according to given job duty for every shift, which may include washing dishes.
  • Food Service Worker will prepare cold and hot food and beverage items in accordance to diets and recipes.
  • Food Service Worker may serve resident tray line and main dining room and/or assemble trays according to prescribed diets.
  • Take inventory and deliver prepared nourishments to nursing unit pantries at designated times for residents' use.
  • Handling of food in a safe manner.
  • Deliver and retrieve food carts to all nursing units during meal service.
  • Keep work area, equipment, and surroundings clean and sanitized.
  • Sweeping, mopping and removal of garbage from all food service areas and staff dining room.
  • Knowledge of handling knives and small kitchen equipment, following established safety guidelines and departmental policies.
  • Must have knowledge of all chemicals used in department.
  • Provide excellent and responsible customer service to residents and all other members of the facility.
  • Maintain attendance record in accordance with facilities standards.
  • Observe safe, economical and proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure all HIPAA requirements are adhered to.
  • Adhering to all facility and department policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Some High School Education
  • Experience working in a kitchen in a healthcare setting preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
  • Exemplary customer service skills.
