Cooperstown Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Food Service Helper.
Position Summary
Food Service Helpers assist with the preparation and service of food, maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas, and support daily cafeteria operations. This position plays an important role in providing a safe, clean, and welcoming dining experience for students and staff.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with food preparation, including washing and preparing fruits and vegetables
  • Help prepare salads, desserts, and other menu items
  • Serve food and assist with meal service
  • Set up and clean tables and dining areas
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and serving areas
  • Assist kitchen staff as needed
  • Operate a cash register on an as-needed basis

Qualifications
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of food service and sanitation practices is helpful
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position

No prior experience is required. Training will be provided.
