Founded in 2021 with operations in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Van Nuys and Camarillo, California, FlyHouse is revolutionizing private aviation through our innovative business model, patent-pending mobile application platform, and commitment to safety, service, and transparency.
Position Summary
The Manager of Flight Control is responsible for leading the daily execution of Flight Control operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and exceptional service delivery. This role oversees departmental performance, identifies opportunities for improvement, and implements process enhancements to support safe, efficient, and customer-focused flight operations.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Coordinate and manage domestic and international trip planning for Part 135 and Part 91 operations, including flight planning, crew scheduling, aircraft feasibility, fuel stops, passenger requirements, and operational logistics.
  • Prepare and file flight plans and ensure all flights are conducted in compliance with applicable FAA regulations, Company Operations Specifications, General Operations Manual (GOM), and company procedures.
  • Monitor and interpret weather conditions, NOTAMs, airspace restrictions, and other operational factors affecting flight safety and efficiency.
  • Prepare and distribute flight releases, trip packages, weather briefings, and operational documentation for flight crews using company-approved systems and software.
  • Coordinate operational support services including permits, slots, handling, parking, hangar arrangements, catering, ground transportation, and international trip requirements.
  • Provide flight following and operational monitoring for all assigned flights, communicating aircraft status, schedule changes, weather impacts, and operational updates to flight crews, clients, owners, and internal stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Track aircraft and crew utilization, including duty and rest requirements, crew qualifications, aircraft status, and operational limitations to ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Charter Sales, Flight Operations, and other departments to maximize fleet efficiency, support customer service objectives, and ensure successful trip execution.
  • Support after-hours, on-call, weekend, and urgent charter requests as required to maintain operational continuity and customer responsiveness.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Certified FAA Dispatcher License preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in aviation operations, flight dispatch, flight control, scheduling, or a related field; Part 135 experience preferred.
  • Must be able to comply with all applicable FAA and DOT regulations, including participation in the Company's FAA/DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program, where required.
  • Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, background checks, and drug testing as a condition of employment.
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations, aviation operations, and industry best practices.
  • FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate, Commercial Pilot Certificate, or Air Traffic Control experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and aviation operations software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment while managing multiple priorities.

Work Environment/Expected Hours:
Primary workstation will be located at the Camarillo Airport in an office environment. This is a full-time non-exempt position. Due to the nature of aviation operations, work hours and schedules may vary based on operational needs. The position may require availability during days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and other non-traditional business hours to support 24/7 flight operations.
Compensation
Hourly: $25 - $28
