Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – Family Practice
West Wichita Family Physicians, P.A. is seeking a compassionate and motivated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our growing primary care team. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative family medicine environment.
We are looking for an APRN who values building long-term relationships with patients, promoting preventive care, and managing both acute and chronic medical conditions across the lifespan. Experience in family medicine or primary care is preferred but not required.
Position Summary
The APRN will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages while working collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff. The provider will practice within the scope of licensure and applicable laws while adhering to established clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide follow-up care for patients across the lifespan
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Perform preventive health assessments and wellness visits
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures within scope of practice
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Kansas law
  • Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure continuity and quality of care
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation
  • Ensure patient encounters are completed and signed within established timeframes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings
  • Meet established productivity and quality expectations
  • Maintain all required licenses, certifications, and credentials
  • Participate in routine meetings with supervising physician(s)
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and practice policies
Qualifications
Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program (MSN or DNP)
  • Current Kansas APRN license
  • National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Eligibility for prescriptive authority in Kansas
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
Preferred
  • Family Practice or Primary Care experience
  • Experience managing patients across the lifespan
  • Knowledge of preventive care guidelines and evidence-based practice standards
