Job Purpose:
- The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) at Lifestream Behavioral Center will provide comprehensive mental health care services to patients. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with psychiatric disorders, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care. The APRN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality behavioral health services and support the overall mission of the center to enhance the well-being of the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients to determine appropriate diagnoses.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices.
- Prescribe and manage medications, monitoring patient responses and adjusting treatments as necessary.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients, utilizing various therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and continuing education to stay current with advancements in psychiatric care.
- Advocate for patients' needs and rights, promoting a supportive and therapeutic environment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
Required Education:
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of practice and board certification ANCC or AANP required.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
- Experience in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders preferred.
- Proven track record of working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team preferred.
