Job description

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Computer Software Support Analyst. The Computer Software Support Analyst is responsible for consulting with users regarding software, hardware, process and system requirements needed in designing, testing, and improving systems; deploying and maintaining the company’s personal computer environment along with troubleshooting and resolving software and hardware problems for computer users. Seeking candidates with a minimum of two years' computer software experience; Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Information Technology, preferred; Experience interfacing with computer users.

Requirements for the Computer Software Support Analyst position include:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Practical understandings of Network support/troubleshooting.
  • Practical understandings of Mobile application support/troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PC Software setup and configuration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Must have an excellent driving record.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed, including overnight stays.

Physical requirements must be met for the Computer Software Support Analyst job, including regularly being required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
