DEPARTMENT SYNOPSIS:

The Elections Department oversees elections, nonpartisan voter accountability advocacy, and voter registration across our four states. The department is tasked with developing and implementing voter engagement strategies in partnership with all departments to build long-term electoral power in the working-class: Black, Latino/a/e, Afro-descendent, Indigenous, and Immigrant communities.

POSITION SUMMARY:

CASA is seeking a Temporary Voter Registration Coordinator to lead our outreach and education efforts. This role focuses on increasing voter participation among working families and immigrant communities in Atlanta. The Coordinator will manage daily field operations, primarily by building and coaching a high-performing team of canvassers dedicated to engaging eligible voters.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Voter Registration Coordinator (Temporary), who is based in the Atlanta, GA area, and reports to the Voter Registration Manager, is responsible for the following:

Implement Field Operation Plans

  • Meets with the Voter Registration Manager, to discuss daily field operations plans that meet daily program metrics and team-building goals.
  • Prepare all canvassing equipment and supplies prior to launch.
  • Lead all launch and debrief meetings with the assigned canvass team.
  • Stay updated on election cycle news and program changes to disseminate information to your team.

Team Supervision

  • Oversee the daily operations of an assigned canvassing team, monitoring field progress against key performance indicators such as registration rates.
  • Ensure the team is fully equipped with necessary supplies and technology at all times.
  • Actively coach canvassers in the field on voter registration best practices and messaging regarding specific issues.
  • Provide real-time feedback and targeted training to support underperforming team members.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all field incidents emergency or otherwise and provide immediate reports to the Voter Registration Manager.

Community Engagement

  • Execute daily voter outreach by persuading and mobilizing eligible voters to register and navigate the voting process.
  • Ensure all data is recorded accurately and reported within established deadlines.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current electoral news, campaign messaging, and the specific socioeconomic issues impacting local communities to ensure authentic and effective engagement.

Team Building and Daily Reports:

  • Facilitate daily canvass launches and debriefs, sharing key insights from voter interactions to foster a collaborative learning environment.
  • Provide real-time feedback and script guidance following voter engagements to ensure the team maintains high-quality standards.
  • Synthesize qualitative field data into comprehensive reports that inform and strengthen overall campaign strategy.
  • Additionally, manage administrative duties by tracking canvasser attendance and processing timesheets.

Additional Tasks:

  • Support the Recruitment Lifecycle:ย Assist the Voter Registration Manager by screening new recruits and conducting initial interviews to identify high-potential candidates for final selection.
  • Inventory Management:ย Track and distribute all voter registration equipment and supplies via the internal reporting system; proactively monitor inventory levels to ensure the team is never undersupplied.
  • Strategic Event Coordination:ย Identify and coordinate community events that align with campaign goals and provide high-visibility opportunities for voter registration.
  • Content Creation & Storytelling:ย Capture high-quality media content during field interactions to support the Communications team in elevating the voices and stories of impacted voters.
  • Operational Support:ย Perform other job-related duties as assigned to ensure the success of the voter registration program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABIILITIES REQUIRED:

Weโ€™re seeking candidates who excel inย team environments, areย results-oriented, and haveย strong communication skills. You should have:

  • Ability to perform all of the duties outlined above
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends
  • A valid US Driverโ€™s License and own car, preferred
  • Experience working with immigrant or low-income communities, a plus
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Exude high energy in a fast-paced environment
  • A demonstrated commitment to meeting a high bar, being timely and a history of getting things done even in the face of obstacles
  • Excellent writing and conversational skills
  • Proficiency in data entry tasks
  • Attention to detail to ensure all work is polished, accurate and precise
  • Bilingual language capacity, preferred
  • Commitment to social change and to furthering CASAโ€™s mission of building power in low-income and immigrant communities by integrating and engaging them in the political process

COMPENSATION: $24 per hour
