Job description

The University ofLouisiana at Lafayette Athletics Department is seeking a qualified EventManagement Coordinator. This position will report directly to the Associate AD ofAthletics Events & Operations. This position is responsible for managing assignedhome events and special events sponsored by Athletics and assisting inexecuting successful game-day initiatives. 
DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
-Serve as the designated event administrator for all assigned University Athletics home events or assist the Associate AD of Athletics Events & Operations in securing another Athletics staff member to fill that role when there are conflicting events.
-Oversee the staging and management of all home athletics events.
-Hire, train, and supervise the student workers/graduate assistants who assist with home event management in such areas as tickets, concessions, promotions, and game/meet operations
-Collaborate with Marketing and Advancement in executing promotions and sponsorships.
-Provides guidance and leadership to all staff to execute successful home games/meets and special events (such as conference and NCAA postseason contests).
-Be responsible for the implementation of University, Sun Belt Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to game management activities.
-Serve as liaison for contracted event services, including but not limited to the Cajundome, University Police, and University Transportation Services.
-Work collaboratively with coaches and staff to schedule events.
-Coordinate all aspects of designing, ordering, and delivering event credentials.
-Coordinate with game-day officials to ensure their needs are met.
-Assist the Director of Facilities and Event Management with duties as needed.
-Disseminate necessary information to visiting teams concerning trip procedures (i.e. Guide for Visiting Teams, maps of campus).
-Support the educational mission of the University and the professional obligation to enhance intercollegiate athletics by providing opportunities to educate students interested in this field.
-Serve as designated LaCarte purchasing agent for event and facility management.
-Oversee the execution of University Athletics Contest Agreements.
-Provide broad based and specific experience to students through internship opportunities and student worker positions.
-Be committed to the compliance process and assist with rules-education.
-Serve as an ambassador of the University and its Athletics Department to all public entities.
-Other duties as may be assigned.
