Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to join a highly respected Am Law firm.

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Position Type: Associate (Lateral)
Experience Level: 3+ years

Direct Counsel is working with a top-tier Am Law 100 firm to identify a Real Estate Associate for its Los Angeles office. This is a strong opportunity to join a Chambers-ranked real estate practice handling sophisticated, large-scale transactions for a diverse and high-profile client base.

About the Practice:
The firmโ€™s real estate group represents domestic and international clients across a broad spectrum of asset classes, including multifamily, industrial, office, retail, data centers/digital infrastructure, and sustainable energy projects. Clients include private equity fund managers, family offices, and Fortune 50โ€“500 companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support complex commercial real estate transactions, including:
    • Acquisitions and dispositions
    • Joint ventures
    • Financing transactions
    • Leasing matters
  • Review and negotiate loan documents, purchase agreements, and leases
  • Advise clients throughout the full lifecycle of real estate transactions
  • Collaborate closely with a national team while also handling matters independently

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of commercial real estate experience
  • Experience representing owners, investors, developers, lenders, landlords, and tenants
  • Strong familiarity with transactional workflows and documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and professionalism
  • JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Admission or eligibility for admission in California

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid schedule with approximately 60% in-office presence

Compensation:

  • Base salary range: $260,000 โ€“ $365,000
  • Bonus eligible with comprehensive benefits package
