Compensation: $18 - $25 hr

About the Position

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Private Estate Caretaker for a 50-acre estate in Umatilla, FL. This role is best suited for someone who takes pride in maintaining property, works independently, and consistently does things the right way. We are looking for a trustworthy individual who can take ownership of the estate’s day-to-day upkeep and maintain a clean, organized, well-kept environment year-round. The schedule is Monday through Friday. This is not a live-in position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the overall appearance, condition, and organization of the estate grounds, exterior areas, garages, storage spaces, and maintenance areas
  • Perform routine property inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and basic handyman duties while proactively identifying and reporting maintenance or security concerns
  • Coordinate and oversee landscaping, lawn care, irrigation, seasonal upkeep, vendors, contractors, and service appointments
  • Maintain equipment, tools, maintenance supplies, and detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, vendor visits, and inventory
  • Assist with storm preparation, emergency response, and other property needs as necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the property, owners, and visitors

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in estate management, property maintenance, groundskeeping, or caretaking preferred
  • Strong handyman, troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and farm equipment used in estate and grounds maintenance
  • Ability to independently manage property needs, prioritize tasks, and schedule routine equipment maintenance and service appointments
  • Professional, trustworthy, discreet, and capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high property standards
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Experience with irrigation systems, pool maintenance, small equipment maintenance, or light mechanical work
