Description Day in the Life of a Operations Leader

The Entry Level Operations Leader supports daily production operations within Bell’s Aeronautical Accessories business at the Piney Flats site. This role is designed for emerging talent seeking to develop leadership skills in manufacturing, operational execution, and continuous improvement. You will help ensure that production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with a strong focus on quality, customer satisfaction, and team engagement.

This role provides hands‑on experience in a dynamic aerospace environment and offers mentorship, development opportunities, and exposure to all aspects of operations management.

As a Operations Leader at Bell, you can expect to:
  • Support daily manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisors and cross‑functional teams (Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering) to resolve operational challenges.
  • Monitor production schedules and assist in prioritizing work to meet customer commitments and optimize flow.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and assist in developing action plans for performance improvement.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and structured problem‑solving tools.
  • Assist with workforce planning, labor allocation, and staffing support for assigned operations.
  • Partner with leadership to drive a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork on the shop floor.
  • Maintain compliance with Bell, Textron, and regulatory standards in day‑to‑day operations.
  • Support projects that enhance operational efficiency, workflow, or part throughput.
  • Communicate status, risks, and improvement opportunities to supervisors and leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field required.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in developing people‑management capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within cross‑functional teams.
