This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Weekend Production Operations Manager — AFP, NDT, Trim & Drill, and Mechanical Integration

Blue Origin is looking for a Weekend Production Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day production operations across Automated Fiber Placement (AFP), Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Trim & Drill, and Mechanical Integration at Blue Origin. This leader will be responsible for a team consisting of approximately 5 supervisors and 100 technicians, with a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement throughout weekend operations.

The ideal candidate will provide strategic and hands‑on leadership across multiple production organizations, ensuring weekend production goals are met while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, compliance, and operational excellence. This role will also be responsible for ensuring a strong transition between weekday and weekend operations and maintaining alignment with overall production priorities.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of 5 supervisors and approximately 100 technicians.
  • Oversee weekend production activities across AFP, NDT, Trim & Drill, and Mechanical Integration.
  • Establish and drive weekend production goals aligned with overall organizational priorities.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and consistent execution of production operations.
  • Manage staffing, capacity, labor allocation, scheduling, and workflow across multiple production areas.
  • Monitor production performance and proactively address constraints, bottlenecks, and schedule risks.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, engineering, and operational requirements.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Planning, and other cross-functional organizations.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and lean manufacturing initiatives across weekend operations.
  • Develop and coach supervisors, strengthening leadership capability and accountability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and use data to drive operational decisions.
  • Ensure effective communication and handoff between weekday and weekend teams.
  • Support workforce planning, staffing, training, and organizational development.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, teamwork, safety, and operational excellence.

  • Proven experience leading manufacturing or production operations in a complex technical environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and improve production performance.
  • Experience developing and mentoring supervisors and other front‑line leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree, Lean/Six Sigma certification, or relevant technical certifications.
  • Aerospace, defense, or other high‑reliability manufacturing experience.
