Job description

Job Title: Entry Level Semi-Diesel Mechanic

Location: 1000 N Villa Ave, Villa Park, IL 60181.
Company: Quality Parts and Repair (Division of DSL Express).
Job Type: Full-time (Part-time will be considered).
Salary: $25-$35 per hour (depending on experience and specialties).
Certifications Required: ASE Certification preferred but not required.
Job Description:

Quality Parts and Repair is seeking skilled and experienced semi-diesel mechanics to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in some semi truck and related engine work and replacement of engine components, but more experience with more minor repairs, such as replacing filters, hoses, belts, brakes, exhaust system, lights, guage switches, minor electrical, tires and hubs, bearings, differentials, ect. Candidates may possess any or all of these skills and will be considered, with the pay scale based on their level of expertise, years of experience and other factors.
Responsibilities:
  • Level 1: Replacement of Engine Components, Clutches, Transmissions, Brakes, Suspensions, Differentials.
  • Work duties may include supervised assistant/trainee duties involving level 2 and 3 objectives.

Pay Scale:
$25-$35 per hour (depending on experience).
Job Details: 
  • Entry-level technicians who perform troubleshooting, routine maintenance and component replacements.
  • May also handle non-technical tasks, such as parts socking and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Replace engine components, clutch, transmission, and differentials - Parts Swapping.
  • Conduct minor engine repairs and replacements - Parts Swapping.
  • Perform minor repairs, such as replacing filters, hoses, and belts.
  • Ensure all replaced parts are functioning correctly.
  • Assist in performing DOT annual inspections on vehicles.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a semi-diesel mechanic.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • ASE Certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience is a serious bonus.
  • Military motor pool experience is desirable.
