As of Jun 10, 2026, the average yearly pay for entry level medical device sales in the United States is $45,046.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $37,000.00 and $50,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Is it entree or entry?

The correct term for the job level is 'entry' level, as in entry-level medical device sales. This refers to positions suitable for candidates with minimal professional experience, often requiring strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. 'Entree' is a culinary term and not related to job levels.

What does entry mean?

In the context of an entry level medical device sales position, 'entry' indicates a role suitable for individuals with little to no prior experience in the field. It typically involves basic training, developing sales skills, and understanding medical devices, often requiring a high school diploma or equivalent and offering opportunities for career growth.

What are some common challenges faced by entry level medical device sales representatives, and how can they be overcome?

Entry level medical device sales representatives often encounter challenges such as learning complex product information quickly, building trust with healthcare professionals, and navigating lengthy sales cycles. It can be daunting to develop relationships with experienced clinicians and decision-makers in a highly regulated environment. Success in this role often requires strong communication skills, persistence, and a willingness to learn from both mentors and feedback. Proactively seeking product training, shadowing experienced reps, and staying current with industry trends can help new hires overcome these initial hurdles and build a solid foundation for their sales career.

What is the synonym of entry?

In the context of an entry-level medical device sales position, a synonym for 'entry' is 'beginning' or 'initial,' referring to the starting level of a career. These roles typically require minimal prior experience and focus on training, product knowledge, and developing sales skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Entry Level Medical Device Sales representative, and why are they important?

To excel as an Entry Level Medical Device Sales representative, you need a bachelor's degree (often in life sciences, business, or a related field), foundational sales knowledge, and an understanding of medical terminology. Familiarity with CRM software, presentation tools, and sometimes certifications like Certified Sales Professional (CSP) are valuable. Strong communication, resilience, and relationship-building skills help you connect with healthcare professionals and adapt to a competitive market. These skills and qualifications are crucial for effectively demonstrating products, meeting sales targets, and building trust with clients in a highly regulated industry.

Medical Device Sales Representatives are more experienced, actively selling products to healthcare providers. What is an entry level medical device sales representative?

An entry level medical device sales representative is a professional who sells medical equipment and devices to healthcare providers, such as hospitals, clinics, and doctors' offices. They are responsible for building relationships with customers, demonstrating product features, and educating medical staff on the use of these devices. Entry level representatives often receive training and work under the guidance of more experienced sales professionals as they learn about the products and the medical industry. This role typically involves traveling to different healthcare facilities, meeting sales targets, and keeping up-to-date with the latest medical technologies.
