Job description

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a EHS Technician - 3rd Shift to join our team in Hodges, SC!
The core hours are 11:30 pm - 7:30 am, M-F.
The rate for this position is $24.73 per hour + $1 per hour shift differential.
This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
We are currently seeking an Entry-Level Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Production Technician to support our EHS initiatives at our Hodges Busway manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement in a dynamic electrical manufacturing environment.
In this function you will:
You will be responsible for complex assemblies to fulfill customer requirements/orders by producing quality products, safely, in a timely manner following Standard Work.
• Assist in implementing Eaton's EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Drives improvements in our "Zero Incident Safety Culture"
• Conducts routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across the facility.
• Supports incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
• Maintain and update EHS documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS), training records, and compliance logs.
• Champion 1 MESH programs individually.
• Support EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year
• Help coordinate and deliver EHS training sessions for employees and contractors.
• Monitor and maintain safety equipment and emergency response supplies.
• Evaluate jobs for possible ergonomic improvements (body mechanics, lifts, hoists, manipulators, etc.) and implement these work design changes
• Actively investigate all accidents and near misses, identifies root causes, and ensures corrective actions are implemented. Will assist Operations in 8D analysis on all recordable accidents.
• Assist with environmental compliance tasks such as waste handling, air emissions tracking, and water discharge monitoring.
• Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.
• Partner directly with the site EHS Manager on site strategy and occupational development for succession roles.
• Use appropriate lift assist or partner lift when moving material/products. May lift and carry up to 40 lbs and push or pull up to 100 lbs.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment and ability to engage across all areas of the plant.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Environmental, Health, or Safety in a manufacturing environment or a combination of those functions.
Skills:
• Familiar with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels in an organization, while establishing and maintaining a strong EHS presence
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work on multiple projects at one time.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
