Job description

Entek Consulting Group is a leader in Industrial Hygiene oversight in Northern California. We are seeking a highlyexperienced, knowledgeable and detail-oriented Industrial Hygiene/Environmental Health & Safety Consultant to provide expert technical assistance for more complexIndustrial Hygiene projects, particularly in the areas of Asbestos management and training.


The successful candidate should be able to provide expert guidance and oversight for select industrial hygiene projects and have the experience and ability to present asbestos, led, and silica awareness training to clients. The successful candidate will also be responsible for assisting in more technical report writing and review, as well as on-site work for more complex clients.


This role is part-time, with a flexible work schedule. This role REQUIRES 10+ years of Industrial Hygiene experience and relevant certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and oversight for industrial hygiene/environmental consulting projects focused on exposure assessment, monitoring, and control of chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
  • Conduct workplace assessments and sampling for airborne contaminants, noise, heat stress, ventilation, and other occupational exposures.
  • Analyze data and prepare comprehensive technical reports with findings and actionable recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health regulations (e.g., OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH, EPA) and internal EHS standards.
  • Collaborate with Operations team to implement control measures and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records, exposure data, and documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Support incident investigations involving occupational illnesses or hazardous exposures.
  • Support vendor relationships and coordinate third-party IH services when needed.
  • Ensure client satisfaction with work and lead resolution of client concerns.
  • Provide guidance for technical reports.
  • Provide awareness level training for various substances including, but not limited to asbestos, lead, metals, and silica.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Engineering ,
    Environmental Science, or related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial hygiene, with emphasis on Asbestos, Lead, and IAQ.
  • In-depth knowledge of IH sampling methods, exposure limits, engineering controls, and PPE requirements.
  • Experience with IH instrumentation and software (e.g., sound level meters, air sampling pumps, rotameters, moisture meters, etc).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management and EHS compliance software a plus.
  • Must have a minimum of a Cal/OSHA Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST), Lead Inspector Assessor, and a CDPH Lead Sampling Technician certification.

This role regularly engages in outdoor work and successful candidates will need to be able to perform work outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather The job may require climbing of ladders, working on elevated platforms and roofs, and working in confined spaces.
