Position Overview

SAVI EHS is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to support a hyperscale data center construction project in San Jose, California. This is an immediate start opportunity structured as a 5โ€“6 month consultant assignment with SAVI EHS, with strong potential to transition into a direct hire role supporting the region with a leading General Contractor.

The EHS Manager will oversee daily safety operations, working closely with project leadership and trade partners to ensure all activities are compliant with OSHA standards, client requirements, and site-specific safety plans. This role is ideal for a safety professional looking to demonstrate value in the field and secure a long-term regional position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance for all on-site construction activities
  • Conduct documented daily EHS inspections, audits, and safety observations
  • Monitor trade partner activities to ensure adherence to approved safety plans and procedures
  • Participate in and review Daily Hazard Analyses (DHAs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Support high-risk operations including cranes, rigging, fall protection, electrical work, and LOTO
  • Deliver site-specific safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training as needed
  • Track safety metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with project leadership to promote an injury-free workplace and strong safety culture


Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction EHS experience (data center or mission-critical experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards
  • Experience working with multiple subcontractors and trade partners on active job sites
  • OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510 or OSHA 500 preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems
  • BCSP certifications such as CHST, ASP, or CSP are preferred
