Position Summary

The EHS Manager leads the EHS Department within the White Bear Lake, MN site. The EHS Manager will advise, supervise, and coordinate all EHS matters within the White Bear Leak site to enable the site management to comply with legal and company-defined EHS requirements and to achieve continuous improvement. The EHS Manager will provide support in developing and implementing programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem solving. This individual will also be responsible for developing and supporting an EHS function currently covering two locations in Minnesota. While this role is primarily based out of White Bear Lake, MN, this individual will provide support to the Fridley, MN location.

What You'll Do Every Day:

  • Lead the Site EHS Department with budget and staff responsibility, serving as the EHS representative on the site management team and championing Heraeus EHS principles and culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all EHS laws, regulations, permits, licenses, and authorizations, including obtaining or revising them as needed; staying current on regulatory changes and advise management on impacts.
  • Manage and improve all environmental programs-air, water, hazardous waste-and coordinate with regulatory agencies, insurance companies, and external specialists; oversee all governmental interactions, audits, and EHS KPI reporting.
  • Act as Key User for Intelex and Enhesa; provide expert technical support to resolve EHS issues; coordinate EHS-related measurements (air emissions, wastewater, industrial hygiene).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS risk assessments, action plans, and strategic improvement initiatives; analyze site-wide EHS performance and integrate improvements into business operations.
  • Establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve the EHS Management System aligned with the Heraeus EHS Development Path, Heraeus Medevio requirements, and ISO 14001/45001, ensuring strong documentation control.
  • Organize and participate in frequent EHS walks; develop internal audit plans; conduct and support internal/external audits, assessments, and walks; complete the annual HPS EHS SelfAssessment, the triennial EHS Compliance Check, and other required audits.
  • Review and approve changes in processes, raw materials, and activities to ensure compliance; advise on process/equipment safety requirements to minimize risks to employees, the public, and the environment.
  • Oversee site-wide EHS training programs, ensuring legal compliance and employee competency; maintain the EHS training plan and update expert-level EHS trainings; support incident reporting, investigation, rootcause analysis, corrective actions, and injury/illness case management.
  • Collaborate and network with other Heraeus EHS professionals globally; complete HPS EHS Assessor training; participate in EHS assessments across the Americas or globally; provide guidance and development to site EHS resources; organize EHS Site Committee Meetings and annual Site Management Reviews.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor degree in Environmental and/or Safety Science, Engineering or related field required; MBA helpful.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in EHS, including management level experience.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential or have the ability to achieve certification within one year, preferred.
  • Experience and working knowledge of EHS regulations and industry standards, including LOTO, machine safety, ergonomics, chemical safety, and HOP and/or BBS.
  • Strong leadership, people management and development skills in an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines as well as manage change and work independently.
  • Networking, influence, and conflict resolution skills with strong focus on deliverables with excellent oral and written skills along with the ability to apply these in the regulatory, advocacy and public affairs culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize computer software (systems used are Microsoft Office, Intelex, intra/internet, etc.).
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Medevio is committed to providing competitive total compensation and benefits packages. The expected hiring range for this position is between $115,000 and $140,000 based upon a full-time schedule. This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors in account, including, but not limited to, candidate qualifications, geographic locations, market conditions and internal equity. This position is bonus eligible, with a target bonus of 15%. Our total compensation package includes eligibility for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, education reimbursement, paid parental leave and paid time off.
