How to start a career in EHS?

To start a career as an Entry Level EHS professional, obtain a relevant degree such as environmental science, safety management, or engineering. Gaining certifications like OSHA 10 or 30-hour training and developing knowledge of safety regulations and hazard assessment are also important steps to enter the field.

What are some typical daily responsibilities for an Entry Level EHS professional?

As an Entry Level EHS professional, your daily tasks may include conducting safety inspections, assisting with hazard assessments, preparing reports on workplace incidents, and helping implement safety programs. You'll also support training activities, keep up-to-date documentation, and collaborate with team members across departments to promote a culture of safety. Expect to spend time both in the office and on the facility floor, gaining hands-on experience while learning about compliance with environmental and occupational health standards. This role is designed to provide a solid foundation for growth into more specialized or senior EHS positions.

What jobs pay $10,000 a month without a degree?

Entry-level EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) roles typically do not pay $10,000 a month without experience or specialized certifications. High-paying jobs in this field usually require advanced skills, certifications like OSHA or NEBOSH, or experience; however, some safety managers or consultants with extensive expertise can reach high earnings, often exceeding this amount. Most roles at this level focus on compliance, safety training, and risk assessments, which generally do not command such high salaries without significant experience.

Responsibilities often include conducting inspections, reporting hazards, analyzing data, and supporting training programs. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe work environment and minimizing risks to employees and the surrounding community. It is typically suited for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience in the EHS field. Entry Level EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) professionals typically require a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational safety, or a related field, along with a fundamental understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards. Familiarity with incident reporting software, MS Office, and basic safety certification programs (such as OSHA 10 or 30-hour training) is often expected.
