A client of I.K. Hofmann's is looking for a Dispatch Manager. This person will oversee the local logistics and transportation of scrap metal. They manage daily driver and truck schedules, plan efficient delivery and pickup routes, and ensure compliance with safety and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.


Core Duties:


  • Fleet Scheduling: Assign local truck drivers to pick up scrap metal from suppliers and deliver it to processing yards.
  • Route Planning: Optimize daily driving routes to save time and fuel.
  • Team Communication: Maintain constant contact with drivers via phone or radio to relay work orders and track progress.
  • Customer Support: Coordinate rate quotes, manage supplier logistics, and resolve scheduling issues.
