A Dispatch Manager at White Cap...
  • Manages, recruits, and hires all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers.
  • Ensures delivery trucks are loaded and operated in compliance with all safety standards.
  • Ensures Drivers are routed effectively to meet planned and unplanned delivery commitments.
  • Ensures vehicle fleet is properly maintained.
  • Minimizes turn-around times through direct supervision of Drivers.
  • Works with Warehouse Manager to ensure seamless integration of Delivery and Warehouse operations and proper inventory controls.
  • Works closely with Inside Sales and Account Managers to resolve delivery issues, reroute trucks and make unplanned vendor pickups.
  • Develops and maintains expert knowledge of the branch delivery area geography.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Generally has 7+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated supervisory or management experience leading drivers, dispatchers, or transportation teams in a distribution, logistics, or delivery environment
  • Experience using routing, dispatch, fleet management, or transportation management systems (e.g., Descartes or similar platforms)
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, driver qualification requirements, vehicle inspections, and transportation safety programs
  • Proven ability to optimize delivery routes, improve fleet utilization, and manage daily transportation operations to meet customer service objectives
  • Experience managing vehicle maintenance programs, driver schedules, and transportation-related performance metrics
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to address delivery issues, reroute resources, and respond to changing operational demands
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across transportation, warehouse, sales, and customer-facing teams
  • Knowledge of construction, industrial, building materials, or contractor-focused delivery operations is preferred; bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency is a plus
