Overview

The Associate Director, Strategy defines day-to-day functional management of client needs, and leadership and direction to the Strategy team.  This person reports into either the Director, Strategy or the VP, Strategy, and also provides strong cross-functional.

ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities

Knowledge

  • Pharma media experience, ideally across a diverse set of conditions, disease states, and audiences (DTC, HCP, Payer, etc.)
  • Understands the total marketing process and the strategic role of media
  • In-depth understanding of the role of media channels in a plan
  • Expertise in various media research tools and software
  • Proactively self-educates on PHM, Publicis Groupe, and client business functions, capabilities, tools, and processes

 

Managing & Leading Others

  • Responsible for the day-to-day workload and deliverables of the Strategy team
  • Supports the Director, Strategy and/or VP, Strategy
  • Builds trust, models inclusion, and shows respect for all employees
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams  
  • Drives internal team momentum and progress to meet client deadlines
  • Takes initiative and shows accountability for oneself and team's work
  • Owns communication on business initiatives and client requests to internal team
  • Trains Strategy team on tools and processes
  • On-boards and trains new hires
  • Participates in formal development process, including performance management, goal-setting, mid- and yearly reviews
  • Nurtures and develops lower-level talent on assigned accounts
  • Participates in PHM's interviewing efforts

Strategy & Account Management

  • Manages, prioritizes, and delegates team workload
  • Coaches team to consistently deliver on client and agency requests
  • Oversees overall media strategy, approach, and plan on each account
  • Helps VP, Strategy drives the planning process
  • Manages multiple accounts and can transition between them seamlessly
  • Provides initial perspectives on media strategies and approaches
  • Owns media channel mix and initial budget allocation and rationale
  • Collaborates with internal cross-functional leaders to ensure strategic alignment of deliverables with client needs
  • Represents the interests of cross-functional teams in client and agency partner meetings where those teams are absent
  • Provides input on deliverables timelines in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Pushes for continuous improvement of self, team, and client deliverables
  • Contributes to new business efforts as needed

 

Client Service

  • Builds a day-to-day relationship with appropriate clients on assigned brands
  • Conveys passion for clients and their businesses
  • Provides input to client to help shape their marketing priorities
  • Models outstanding client service for team
  • Influences clients through strong public speaking, presentation, and writing skills

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years media planning experience
  • Cross-channel media knowledge and experience
  • Familiarity with standard media research and planning tools (e.g. Clear Decisions)
  • Pharmaceutical industry a plus
  • BA/BS; advanced degree a plus

Compensation Range: $115,000 - $120,000. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
