Job Description

The Director, Strategy leads brand, communications, and activation strategy across complex healthcare assignments, from science-led HCP work to consumer-facing campaigns. This role translates business objectives, clinical evidence, audience behavior, market dynamics, and cultural context into clear strategic choices. Working closely with clients and teams across Creative, Medical, Media, and Client Services, the Director develops strategies that inspire distinctive work and drive measurable business outcomes.
What You’ll Do

  • Lead integrated strategy from discovery through launch, including positioning, audience strategy, customer journeys, communications planning, and activation.
  • Translate clinical, regulatory, commercial, cultural, and behavioral inputs into clear briefs, strategic recommendations, and measurable priorities.
  • Partner with Creative, Medical, Media, and Client Services teams to develop responsible, distinctive, and commercially effective work.
  • Facilitate client workshops, planning sessions, and presentations that create alignment around brand, audience, and business decisions.
  • Mentor junior strategists and contribute to pitches, organic growth opportunities, and the continued development of Klick’s Strategy Craft.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience in brand, marketing, communications, social, content, or creative strategy, including ownership of integrated assignments from research through launch.
  • 5+ years of experience within an agency, consultancy, or similarly demanding client-services environment, with responsibility for client deliverables and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in segmentation, positioning, customer journeys, brand building, research, measurement, and creative development, supported by strategies or case studies tied to business outcomes.
  • Experience presenting strategic recommendations and facilitating workshops with senior clients or cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Portfolio or work examples showing the ability to simplify complex scientific, commercial, regulatory, or market information into clear briefs and actionable strategies.
  • Experience coaching junior strategists or guiding multidisciplinary teams through feedback, strategic direction, and quality standards.

Desired:

  • Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or another highly regulated and scientifically complex industry.
  • Experience developing strategy for both healthcare professional and consumer audiences across digital, social, CRM, media, or omnichannel programs.
  • Experience supporting brand launches, category creation, company positioning, new business pitches, or organic account growth.
  • Exposure to behavioral science, cultural strategy, innovation methods, or emerging technology in marketing.
  • Experience working across multiple brands, audiences, channels, or levels of scientific complexity.
