his position is responsible for developing assigned digital work product(s). Working with internal and external partners, the incumbent will independently deliver features with sound design choices, writing maintainable and tested code.
The Software Engineer owns features and small projects end-to-end, delivering measurable value to the team's roadmap. Responsibilities include picking appropriate patterns for problems, debugging production issues, and operating with awareness of trade-offs in performance, reliability, and security within their feature area. The role provides technical support to the Senior Software Engineer and Director Software Engineering.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in modern software development practices
  • Minimum 5 years reviewing product and/or business requirements and providing technical feedback
  • Minimum 5 years delivering quantifiable business results
  • Independently delivers features with sound design choices; writes maintainable, tested code
  • Picks appropriate patterns for the problem; debugs production issues with limited help
  • Aware of trade-offs in performance, reliability, and security within their feature area
  • Experience working with an internal software development team and/or external development partners
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple teams and at varying levels throughout the organization
  • Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as Engineering, Content Development, UX/UI, Video and Fan/Customer Support
  • Familiarity with software development life-cycle methodologies such as SCRUM and Agile
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience working with live data in industries like banking, retail, or medical records
  • Experience in search engine optimization and accessibility standards
  • Sports background/knowledge is preferred but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Owns features and small projects end-to-end, delivering measurable value to the team's roadmap
  • Writes clear design docs and PR descriptions; collaborates well with QA, product, and design partners
  • Explains technical decisions in language teammates can follow; disagrees respectfully
  • Pairs with and mentors associate software engineers
  • Contributes to team rituals (standups, retros, on-call); raises issues constructively
  • Models engineering values: ownership, kindness, evidence-based decisions
  • Provide input and thoughts for architectural review of the PGA TOUR digital roadmap
  • Provide technical feasibility of items in the product backlog
  • Works collaboratively with the project management team to develop product objectives and define scope
  • Partners with vendors on the user experience and implementation/support of digital products
  • Collaborates with support staff to troubleshoot issues
  • Performs relevant or necessary on-going system configurations and operational tasks to support the product/platform
  • Special Projects or other duties as assigned
