Job description

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Junior Software Engineer job in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This CONTRACT job is available with one of our key clients in the financial solutions sector. In this role, you will join a collaborative software development team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom web applications, internal business tools, APIs, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions. To be successful in this position, you should have experience with full-stack .NET development, SQL Server, and modern web technologies. Preference will be given to professionals with experience supporting finance or accounting applications and working with legacy systems.

Junior Software Engineer Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, define, and prioritize business and technical requirements.
  • Architect and develop C# ASP.NET MVC web applications and .NET background services.
  • Own features throughout the development lifecycle, including domain modeling, database schema design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Build and maintain web-based interfaces using HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, Bootstrap, and Razor.
  • Develop C# Web API backends using Entity Framework and SQL Server.
  • Work with UI component libraries such as Kendo UI for jQuery and Telerik.
  • Establish reusable development patterns, shared components, and utilities across projects.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows and data feeds.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between multiple systems.
  • Write and optimize SQL Server stored procedures, queries, and database schemas.
  • Communicate technical solutions clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Three to five years of software development experience with strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server, Entity Framework, RESTful APIs, and modern web technologies.
  • Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, database design, stored procedures, query optimization, and system integrations.
  • Experience with Agile development, Azure DevOps, Git, Power BI, Telerik/Kendo UI, Python, SQL Server reporting tools, or finance and accounting applications is preferred.
