Primary Purpose:
Direct and manage the operations of the Sheldon Early Learning Center to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children of district employees. Ensure compliance with all childcare licensing requirements, Texas Rising Star standards, district policies, and early childhood best practices while supporting high-quality instruction and customer service for district staff families.
Qualifications:
Education / Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Educational Leadership, or related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate preferred
  • Director Credential or qualifications meeting Texas Health and Human Services Child Care Licensing standards required
  • CPR/First Aid certification required

Special Knowledge / Skills
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and administrative practices
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive program and financial information
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Develop and implement health, safety, and emergency procedures
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and ensure proper staff-to-child ratios are maintained

Staff Supervision
  • Supervise, evaluate, and support Early Learning Center staff
  • Coordinate hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and professional development for employees
  • Foster a collaborative and professional culture focused on student success and customer service
  • Ensure staff receive required annual training and certifications

Family and Community Relations
  • Build positive relationships with district employees and families

Operational Management
