As a Product Development Engineer in Carmel, IN, you will be responsible for launching new product development and new applications at the customer and developing top down functional requirement and design, simulate and qualify full product to meet customer needs. You will have end to end responsibility for flawless launch, with performance / cost / reliability / APQP and timing.
You will be responsible for launching new product development and new applications at the customer and developing top down functional requirement and design, simulate and qualify full product to meet customer needs. You will have end to end responsibility for flawless launch, with performance / cost / reliability / APQP and timing.
Responsibilities Include:
  • End to End Product Ownership, meeting all turbocharger functional requirements (Performance, Reliability, Quality, Costs & Timing) to meet engine specifications
  • Customer Interface - Single Point of Contact to Customer for Launch
  • Matching, Design, Simulation, Validation (DVP&R), Turbo Release (TRA)
  • Accountable for Internal & External APQP (advanced product planning quality) on full Bill Of Material - Sign off turbo, component PPAP deviations (APQP output)
  • Accountable for 2D & 3D creation and quality according to documented Design Standards & guidelines
  • Ensure proper application & use of standard Design processes & tools, as defined by functional matrix
  • Support Design quality issue investigations (8D's) and lead implementation of corrective actions

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
  • 3+ years of experience with developing and/or launching products in the automotive or similar industry
  • Proven track record with product validation and launch experience as well as product development and component design in automotive industry
    • Experience with direct customer interface
    • Strong communications skills and sense of urgency
    • Team player, growth and customer focus
