Job Description
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to lead the way in our platform automation and site reliability. Working closely with a small team, the ideal candidate will make big decisions on the future of Activehours. You will be expected to lend your experience to shaping, defining, and tweaking all of our key systems as we scale beyond hundreds of thousands of users. Based in Silicon Valley, this position reports directly to the VP of Engineering.

What you'll do
Help shape our next generation platform
Automate everything
Continuously improve our visibility into our systems and applications with advanced monitoring, metrics and log analytics
Identify root causes on critical problems throughout the platform & take steps to resolve them
Create & follow-up on site incident reports and see them through to resolution
Communicate across third party services to resolve day-to-day issues and relay updates to the team
Build and deploy tools to ensure the health and reliability of Activehours systems
Architect & manage product release workflow & live deployments with continuous delivery system
Experiment with technologies and share learnings with the team to push our tech-forward mentality
Technical qualifications
5+ years combined experience as software engineer, software engineer in test, systems administrator, site reliability engineer or any combination of roles
You are proficient at writing code and do so in order to automate infrastructure, improve system reliability and optimize continuous delivery pipelines

We're a group of passionate and experienced developers split between Cincinnati and Palo Alto. Our Cincinnati team has a strong background in financial services and back-end development, while our Palo Alto team is focused on mobile development, growth hacking, and data processing and analytics. We collaborate throughout the day on via Slack, FaceTime and Hangouts. We work in a very collaborative and fun environment, free drinks and snacks, lunch catered in on Fridays.
