US Retail Markets (USRM) Technology | Innovation Enablement
About the role
US Retail Markets (USRM) Technology - Innovation Enablement is seeking a passionate Engineering Manager to lead teams within our Third-Party Data portfolio. This is a highly visible role responsible for building, modernizing, and operating data ingestion and platform capabilities that enable critical business outcomes across USRM.
In this role, you will lead engineering teams responsible for delivering scalable, reliable, and secure third-party data services consumed across Property, Auto, and Small Commercial domains. You will partner closely with Product, Architecture, and peer Engineering Managers to shape roadmaps, drive execution, and continuously raise the bar on engineering excellence. This role plays a key part in enabling Frontier - One Auto / One Property, ensuring external data is consistently ingested, enriched, and delivered through shared platforms that support unified customer and policy experiences across lines of business.
What you'll do
  • Lead, coach, and develop high performing engineering teams delivering third - party data ingestion, enrichment, and distribution capabilities
  • Own delivery outcomes across multiple squads, ensuring commitments to quality, reliability, security, and predictability are met
  • Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable technology roadmaps
  • Drive alignment to engineering standards, platform consistency, and modern design patterns across the Third-Party Data portfolio
  • Proactively manage delivery risks, technical debt, and cross team dependencies in a complex, highly integrated environment
  • Foster a strong engineering culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Participate in talent planning, hiring, coaching, and performance management for engineers and senior individual contributors
What you bring
  • Strong experience leading software engineering teams and delivering complex, data intensive platforms or services
  • Ability to balance near-term delivery needs with longer - term platform modernization and technical strategy
  • Experience working effectively in large, matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders and dependencies
  • Knowledgeable in modern software engineering languages and tools, including Java, Spring, AWS, Kubernetes, and TypeScript
  • Proven ability to coach engineers, grow talent, and cultivate a culture of ownership and continuous learning

Third Party Data is a foundational capability across USRM. In this role, you'll directly influence how external data is integrated, standardized, and delivered at scale, helping teams move faster while reducing duplication, operational risk, and long-term complexity.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of technology concepts, strategies and methodologies typically acquired through a Bachelor`s or Master`s Degree in technical or business discipline and a minimum of five years' experience in a practice relevant domain including delivering software solutions in an agile environment.
  • 3 years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Able to manage complex technology development concepts, capabilities and maturity.
  • Requires excellent analytical ability, consultative, communication, presentation and management skills, strong judgment and ability to effectively liaise with cross functional stakeholders and optimize teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate collaboratively and build consensus. In-depth knowledge of technology standards and guidelines; knowledge of management concepts, practices and techniques; thorough knowledge of business functions and operations, objectives and strategies.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
