Job description

This position is responsible for managing the Smart Care financial accounting processes and is a key partner to the Corporate Controller. The responsibilities include reporting financial results in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and Smart Care's policies. The position is responsible for the maintenance and development of accounting policies and controls; and company adherence of such. This position is a primary functional contact for their designated segment, in conjunction with other Smart Care departments: Operations, IT, HR, and Fleet. The position will be the segment's lead point of contact with external service providers such as auditors and tax accountants.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Lead the segment's financial statement process monthly and ensure financial statements are presented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Recruit, train, lead, and develop the accounting teams. Provide ongoing leadership to all accounting personnel.
  • Ensure integrity of the financial results through regular reconciliations of all permanent accounts and underlying ledgers.
  • Technical expert of POC accounting, capable of training and reviewing POC accounting with segment entities.
  • Cost accounting for inventory and inventory control oversite for all segment entities.
  • Oversight of all segments intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accrual and reporting of all employee and management contingent pay plans.
  • Address entity inquiries related to payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or other accounting functions.
  • Lead the segment's annual external audit in compliance with external requirements.
  • Develop and maintain segment level and cost center reporting.
  • Partner with the segment president to meet the needs of the business and the leaders.
  • Ensure functional expertise of primary front-end and back-end ERP systems that exist in the segment.
  • Partner with the FPA team as an active participant in the annual operating plan process.
  • Coordinate with the FPA department on the segment consolidation and account mapping, for both reporting and forecasting activities.

  • Direct Reports: accounting managers from the different operating companies.

Requirements:

  • CPA or equivalent required.
  • 10(+) years of progressive accounting/financial experience, minimum of 2 years in controller position preferred.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including the use of excel and pivot tables.
  • Job costing and service industry experience preferred.
  • Private equity and consolidation experience preferred.
  • Ability to partner with operational and sales leaders to provide data that will drive results.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage complex accounting and reporting systems.
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and identify/implement ideas for improvement.
  • Ability to solve and articulate complex solutions with minimal input and direction.
  • Ability to amicably resolve issues and questions with internal/external customers.

Pay starting at $190,000 per year, DOE.
