Job Title

Contract Specialist- Commercial Flooring

Position Overview

The Contract Specialist acts as a strategic contract reviewer and business risk advisor for Shaw Industries' Commercial Division, driving sound decision-making across customer agreements. This role evaluates commercial contracts, identifies risk, and assesses operational and financial impacts to proactively resolve issues prior to Legal engagement. Thisrole isbased in Cartersville, GA and works in a hybrid way with 3 days/ weekrequiredin office.

Responsibilities:

Contract Review & Risk Identification:

  • Independently review all incoming contractsbefore legal review, including NDAs, MSAs, RFP terms, rebate agreements, pricing agreements, and other commercial customer contracts.

  • Identifyand assess business risks, including financial exposure, operationalimpacts, andpricing implications, and non-standard contractual requirements.

  • Flag contract provisions likely to require Legal review and prepare concise summaries of key issues, risks, and recommended business positions.

  • Proactively resolve business-related issues with Sales, Strategic Accounts, customers, and internal stakeholdersbeforeLegal escalation.

  • Evaluate contract structures and commercial terms to ensure alignment with Shaw's businessobjectives, operational capabilities, and risk tolerance.

Negotiation & Business Support:

  • Support commercial discussions and negotiations related to contract terms, pricing structures, rebate programs, and customer requirements.

  • Recommend alternative contract language for business concerns, commercial positions, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Partner with Legal by providing business context, contract history, customer background, and recommended negotiation positions.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales and Strategic Accounts teams throughout the contract development and negotiation process.

Contract Compliance, Pricing & Administration:

  • Monitor executed agreements to ensure ongoing compliance with customer contractual obligations and Shaw business requirements.

  • Maintain contract records, amendments, renewals, pricing schedules, rebate structures, and supporting documentation within Salesforce and approved contract management systems.

  • Coordinate andfacilitatecontract-related pricing requests, approvals, updates, and renewals in partnership with Sales Leadership, Finance, Commercial Leadership, and Contract Administration.

  • Generate, analyze, and distribute contract compliance reports, pricing updates, customer-specific contract summaries, rebate reports, funding fee reports, and other operational reporting asrequiredwhile tracking key contractual milestones, including customer commitments, notice periods, and renewal timelines.

  • Support implementation of customer contract terms by coordinating with internal departments to ensure contractual obligations are understood and executed properly.

Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop and implement processes that improve contract quality, compliance, accuracy, and cycle time.

  • Maintainaccuratecontract documentation,repositories,and reporting processes.

  • Train and mentor internal stakeholders on contract requirements, risk identification, compliance obligations, reporting procedures, and best practices.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to contract management systems, reporting tools, pricing workflows, and business processes.

Relationship Management:

  • Build strong relationships with Sales, Strategic Accounts, Legal, and externalstakeholders

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned market segments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field and 2-3 years of commercial contract, pricing, sales operations, procurement, or related experience; OR 5-7 years of progressive experience in contract administration,RFPs,contract management, commercial operations, pricing, or customer agreement management in lieu of a degree.

  • Proven ability to review and interpret contractagreements,identifybusiness risk, and recommend solutions

  • Experience partnering cross-functionally withSales, Finance, and Legalto support contract development, negotiations, and execution

  • Working knowledge ofpricing structures, rebate programs, and customer agreements, including financial and margin implications

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability totranslate complex contract language into clear business insights and actionable recommendations

  • Abilityandwillingnessto work in a hybrid way in Cartersville, GA 3 days a week depending on theneeds of the business, travelscheduleand collaboration focus.
