Job description

POSITION PURPOSE: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manager of Consumer Insights to drive our consumer research initiatives. This role is pivotal in understanding and translating consumer behavior, preferences, and trends into actionable insights that will shape our business strategies and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market research methodologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex data in a clear and compelling manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Exercise independent discretion and judgment in the design and execution of consumer research projects to develop insights on customer preferences, behaviors, and trends. Utilize quantitative and qualitative research methods, including surveys, focus groups, and data analytics to develop actional recommendations. Analyze and interpret data to identify patterns, trends, opportunities for innovation and opportunities for growth.

Exercise independent discretion in providing meaningfully support and provide directional guidance at all phases of product development and brand marketing from ideation to concept testing, taste testing, marketing testing and system launch measurement. Manage external research suppliers including RFPs and SOWs Use discretion and judgment on matters of significance to develop and present comprehensive reports and presentations on consumer insights to senior management and other stakeholders. Translate complex data into actionable recommendations on matters of significance that drive business strategy and improve customer experiences.

Monitor and analyze market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to develop actionable recommendations to leadership. Provide insights and recommendations on emerging trends and potential impacts on the business. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, operations, and store development to integrate consumer insights into strategic initiatives.

Oversee the management and utilization of consumer data and research tools. Ensure data accuracy and integrity, and stay updated on the latest research methodologies and technologies. Identify opportunities to enhance the overall guest experience based on consumer feedback and insights.

Develop strategies to address customer opportunities that are identified in the data analysis and improve satisfaction. Source and synthesize information from secondary or syndicated research sources. Use this data to enrich primary research findings or address ad hoc research requests.

Proactively identify research gaps and emerging areas of interest. Stay informed about cultural trends and market dynamics to ensure that research efforts remain relevant and forward-thinking. QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the job.

Education/Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Data Science, Psychology, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or a related role, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry. License/Certifications: N/A Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including survey design, data collection, and analysis. Ability to work at the Support Center consistent with the hybrid work policy.

Experience in managing external research suppliers and handling RFPs. Ability to source and synthesize secondary research to complement primary findings. Proactive approach to identifying research opportunities and staying current with market trends.

Proficiency in using research software and tools (e.g., survey platforms, data visualization tools). Strong organizational skills with experience in maintaining documentation and developing research libraries. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex data to various stakeholders. The position is a typical office environment where the position is seldom exposed to dust and noise. Ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance to the company.
